Founder story

Why we exist.
It all started in 2019, when Sandra and Rainer met at zooplus. Rainer had just joined as CPO, Sandra was leading one of the product areas.
They quickly discovered they shared the same belief: great software is built by empowered product teams, not by teams that deliver someone else's roadmap.
Together, they transformed the way more than 35 product teams across four countries worked. They introduced new ways of working and established a portfolio process that gave leadership strategic steering while enabling product teams to own outcomes instead of output.
The conversations often continued long after work. They kept asking themselves: why are there so few globally successful software companies in Germany and Europe?
Their answer was always the same. One of the biggest levers is Product Management. Too often, Product Managers are treated as project coordinators instead of business leaders, preventing great products from emerging.
That belief led to the founding of Value Rebels.
Today, our mission is to change how Europe builds products by helping organizations create empowered product teams and stronger Product Owners, Product Managers, and Product Leaders.
Because Europe needs stronger product organizations.
